A Summer Concert by ‘Aria 21’

‘Aria 21’ is an ensemble of three fun and fabulous musicians.

All three performers are post-secondary graduates of Classical Music programs who have found their homes along Lake Huron.

Meghan De Jager BMus Performance teaches privately in Goderich, and also directs A Cappella Chamber Choir in Port Elgin.

Liz Coates BMusEd Teaches privately and is an Organist in her hometown of Kincardine.

Christina Edwards PATM, BMus in Collaborative Piano Performance is a Piano teacher and School Administrator at Blackboard Sound in Port Elgin.

Liz and Meghan were both students of Jeanette Steeves in Port Elgin, and went on to be university roommates. Back home again after graduation, Meghan and Christina met at rehearsals for A Cappella Chamber Choir.

In 2017 When Liz sporadically exclaimed to Meghan that she wanted to have a summer concert, Meghan immediately roped-in Christina.

The three performers had such an amazing time rehearsing for , and performing, their first concert, that seconds after their curtain call Christina exclaimed “So, when’s the next concert!?”.

The group committed to further music making, and with the enthusiastic positive community response and support, they continue to perform to this day.

Their ensemble name comes from super fan Heather Bolton, who found the inspiration for the ‘punny’ name from the Highway that connects the towns of the three group members (Highway 21). The three performers have a commitment to making Classical Music accessible and beautiful for all audiences.
