There are only two weeks left until the biggest cycling event ever held in Saugeen Shores, if not Bruce County, begins.
The Gran Fondo Lake Huron will take cyclists along the scenic shore of Lake Huron and also inland to take in the Bruce County countryside.
The event is a major fundraiser for the local Saugeen Memorial Hospital located in Southampton (Saugeen Shores) and will also be a day of fun for everyone. With hosted rest stops along the routes and a final after-cycle party on Southampton’s lake shore with live music and BBQ, the day is sure to be an event to be remembered.
Jumping into the cycling mode, the Southampton Rotary Club is turning the community blue and is also sponsoring a decorating contest.
With four routes of 30Km, 70km, 110Km and 160Km, there is a level to challenge every rider’s ability. To register or sponsor a rider, visit granfondolakehuron.ca .
“Every single fundraising dollar from this event goes towards medical equipment,” says Hospital Foundation Executive Direct, Sally Kidson. “All costs to put on the ride are covered through sponsorship and registration fees. Please continue to help us achieve our goal!
