Investigation continues into offensive graffiti

On May 28, 2021 at 3:42 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information that graffiti had been applied to the gazebo at Victoria Park in Kincardine. Officers arrived and viewed a number of offensive symbols and words.

Graffiti is any writing, drawing or symbols applied to any surface without the property owner’s permission. It is also a criminal offence called Mischief that carries a maximum of 2 years in jail upon conviction.

Investigators are interested in viewing any video surveillance near Victoria Park between 8:00 a.m. on May 27, 2021 and 12:00 p.m. on May 28, 2021.

The offensive graffiti has since been removed, but the police investigation is continuing.
