Investigation results in major marihuana seizure

On October 11, 2018 members from the Grey-Bruce Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) was assisted by Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) and the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) as they executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant on a property located on Concession 11 in the Municipality of Kincardine.

As a result of the investigation, police seized over 600 cannabis marihuana plants, cannabis marihuana buds, cannabis marihuana shake, cannabis marihuana edibles, and over $4200 in Canadian currency.  The estimated combined value of the seized controlled substances is approximately $250,000.

A male and a female, both in the 60s from Kincardine, have been charged with the following offences contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act:

  • Produce a Schedule II Substance (Cannabis Marihuana)
  • Produce a Schedule II Substance (Cannabis Resin)
  • Possession of Marihuana for the Purposes of trafficking
  • Possession of Cannabis Resin for the Purposes of Trafficking

They will appear at The Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton at a future date to answer to their charges.
