Local MPPs acclaimed for next Provincial election

On Saturday, September 26th, 2020, members of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party riding association for the electoral district of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound and Huron-Bruce convened for a virtual Candidate Selection meeting.

Both MPPs Bill Walker, Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, and Lisa Thompson, Huron-Bruce have been acclaimed as the Progressive Conservative candidates for the next provincial election.
This is the fourth nomination for Thompson, who was first elected in 2011 and the third term for Walker.
“I am humbled and honoured to have been selected to represent our party in the next provincial election,” said Walker. “We truly live in the greatest riding in the province and it has been a privilege to represent the great people of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound. We have accomplished a great deal both across the province and right here in Bruce and Grey and I look forward to continuing to work day in and day out to serve the people to the best of my abilities.”
Thompson added that she has always advocated for the priorities of Huron-Bruce.  “I appreciate the opportunity to continue my efforts to demonstrate the important need for broadband, as well as the need to support strong community economic development and the infrastructure that goes hand in hand.”
The next Provincial election takes place in 2022.
