To help parents and caregivers with that dreaded “I’m bored!” from children this March Break, the Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII) and Bruce Power are excited to announce the launch of the virtual Best Ever March Break Camp.
This free online educational experience will cater to students from Grades 2 to 7—and will be a week full of laughter, prizes, and learning. It will consist of two one-hour sessions each day from March 15-19:
- The morning session will walk participants through a hands-on science project that students can follow along with and try themselves, using everyday materials found in their own homes.
- The afternoon session will feature NII’s Coding in the Classroom instructors teaching students the basics of coding and helping them solve puzzles and build their own video games and animations.
NII Explore delivered its very successful virtual Best Ever Summer Camp in 2020 to more than 400 students. This year’s March Break participants may recognize some of that camp’s greatest hits, but there will be new content to engage both returning and first-time campers.
“We had a lot of fun running our virtual camp last summer!” said Phillip Craig, Director of NII Explore. “This year, with the generous sponsorship from Bruce Power, we can’t wait to see some of those students again—along with a new group of eager-to-learn campers.”
“We’re very excited to be a part of the Best Ever March Break Camp,” said Dwight Irwin, Bruce Power’s Manager of Community Relations. “We encourage children of all ages to take part in what is sure to be another fun-filled and educational week with NII Explore.”
