No place for hate in the Municipality of Kincardine!

The Municipality of Kincardine has responded to a recent incident of racist hate graffiti.

“We are deeply saddened and angered to find racist hate graffiti this afternoon on the Victoria Park Gazebo,” said the Chamber of Commerce in a media release.

The OPP were called and a report has been filed. The hate graffiti was removed by Parks and Recreation staff right after the OPP documented and filed a report on the hateful words.

Mayor Glover is disheartened to see this happening in our community and says that, “Racist behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. We are committed to working towards change within our own organization and in partnership with the community so everyone feels safe and welcome in the Municipality of Kincardine.”

“We all have a role to play in preventing and standing up against racism and creating positive change in our community. Acts like this reinforce and amplify the need to work together for change,” added Kincardine CAO, Sharon Chambers.
