Not much of an election race in Huron-Kinloss

With all Councilors in Huron-Kinloss acclaimed, the only two positions up for grabs were for Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

The race for Mayor was between incumbent Mitch Twolan and his opponent, Brian MacEachern.  Twolan won handily with 1,846 votes to MacEachern’s 922.

When it came to Deputy Mayor and, since incumbent Wilf Gamble had decided not to seek re-election, the race was between Perry Elliott and Don Murray.  Murray won the vote with 1,680 to Elliott’s 1,018.

The Councilors acclaimed were:  Lillian Abbott, Jeff Elliott, Jim Hanna, Ed McGugan, and Carl Sloetjes.
