OPP Drug Warrant Executed

On February 5, 2020, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine Unit and Saugeen Shores Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property along Bruce County Road 3 in Arran-Elderslie Township.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized OxyContin, Hydromorphone and Fentanyl. The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances is $8,664.00.

Police also seized offence related property that consisted of drug trafficking paraphernalia, digital scales, packaging material and cell phones.

A 46-year-old male of Arran-Elderslie Township was charged with Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of Trafficking and Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He was held in custody pending the result of a bail hearing.

A 33-year-old, of Arran-Elderslie Township was charged with Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of Trafficking. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 18, 2020 to answer to the charge along with the male’s 83-year-old mother, of Arran-Elderslie Township who was also charged with Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of Trafficking and is scheduled to appear in court on March 18, 2020 to answer to the charge.
