Summer family fun at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre

Summer at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is about to begin filled with fun for the whole family.
The season began on May 14th with the new exhibit ‘Inspiring Nature, Inspired Techno: Biomimicry & Transport.  The exhibit illustrates how plants and animals in nature have inspired modern technology.
The opening night of the exhibit was a fun-filled event with a quizz that tested the knowledge of Mayor Luke Charbonneau, OPG’s Kaitlyn Nevil and two young audience members, Mirabelle and Myles, a test of strength and the chance to grow a wildflower garden.

In the exhibit, visitors will learn how an egg inspired the strength of a bridge, how nature inspired the invention of velcro, how nature contributed to the lane sensors in today’s vehicles, what beehives gave to the world of technology … and much more.
This fascinating exhibit for all ages, presented by OPG, is a production of the Musée de l’ingéniosité J. Armand Bombardier in collaboration with the Musée de la nature et des sciences de Sherbrooke, the Granby Zoo and the Institut de biomimétisme and was made possible thanks to the contribution of the Government of Canada.
The exhibit remains at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre until Labour Day in September and only one of the many activities taking place this summer.
