Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson said she is proud to represent the riding and rural Ontario in the provincial cabinet. Thompson was appointed to Premier Ford’s cabinet late last week and will serve as the Minister of Education. Additionally, she will sit on Ontario’s Treasury Board.
“This is indeed an honour, and it is one that I do not take lightly,” she said. “We have a great deal of work ahead of us but I am ready.”
However, one thing Thompson has vowed is that her attention and work on local issues will remain a priority. “First and foremost I represent the residents of Huron-Bruce,” she said. “The voters placed their trust in me and I work for them.”
Thompson said that while her responsibilities might have increased with the cabinet appointment, she will continue to help resolve local issues. “My constituency offices in Blyth and Kincardine are open daily and I am fortunate to have very experienced and dedicated staff who are there to help.”
Going into her third term as an MPP, Thompson said nothing has changed. “Quite simply, as I’ve said all along, Huron-Bruce Matters.”
