Municipality of Kincardine COVID-19 Meals Program Initiative

Municipality of Kincardine Council passed a resolution at their meeting of May 4, 2020, that will support the provision of meals to members in our community experiencing financial constraints, are mobility challenged and/or are in extreme isolation during the current pandemic.

An initiative brought to the Council table by Councillor Doug Kennedy in late April, further investigation revealed additional supports already in place within the municipality that are providing assistance to our most vulnerable. The most efficient approach and use of our resources is to partner with existing service, Meals on Wheels, and focus efforts to promote and the support the program financially. Municipality of Kincardine Council has committed financial support for the initiative through June 30, 2020.

Through our local food and support service programs, Municipality of Kincardine community members in need are also being identified by service contact persons through word of mouth, web or social media pages and as existing clients prior to the pandemic. Messaging is being sent to our local community partners such as places of worship and service groups to help spread the word.

Residents that would like to inquire about Meals on Wheels for themselves or a loved one can visit the Grey Bruce Home and Community Support Service (HCSS) Website at or call their Central Intake number at 519-372-2091 Press 1.
