Rent of Huron Shores Hospice 2nd suite is covered for one year by UBC Local 2222

UBC Local 2222 has made a commitment to cover the base cost of the rent for the second suite at Huron Shores Hospice for one year. This donation of $17,108 is in addition to the $20,000 already donated in materials and labour costs associated with renovating the second suite.

Ryan Plante, Local Union Coordinator, stated “Our involvement in the Huron Shores Hospice story has been an amazing experience! The Huron Shores Hospice team members are champions in our community providing much needed end of-life care and we are thrilled to be able to help them accomplish their goal of adding a second suite.”

Huron Shores Hospice is a charitable not-for-profit, volunteer-led, community-funded residential hospice, providing free quality end-of-life care, at no cost, to residents of Saugeen Shores, Kincardine and Huron-Kinloss and surrounding areas. Huron Shores Hospice also provides free programs for Grief Recovery, End of Life Doula services, Death Cafes and End-of-Life Planning workshops.

“The Carpenters Union is a longtime supporter of our community hospice,” says Carol Rencheck, Co-Chair of Huron Shores Hospice. “The members of the UBC Local 2222 have worked tirelessly to transform both of the hospice suites into homes away from home. They have been there for us from the start and consistently go above and beyond whatever our requests are. We are thrilled to have their support.”
