Effective immediately, The Chief Fire Officials for The Ripley-Huron and Lucknow District Fire Departments have issued a Total Burn Ban for the Township of Huron-Kinloss.
This ban applies to all open air burns, beach fires and recreational fires (campfires) in accordance with the Township of Huron-Kinloss Open Air Burning By-Law No.2016-139 (as amended).
In addition, all Fire Permits that have been issued are suspended. This Ban is in effect until further notice.
These measures have been put in place to limit Responders coming into contact with and potentially being infected with COVID-19. If members of the Fire Department became ill or had to self-isolate for 14 days, it would have serious impacts on the ability to respond to emergencies within our community. This in turn would have very serious Public Safety implications.
