Look to the skies on the morning of Sunday, August 19th, and you just might see a beautiful hot air balloon rising above the Flag at the Southampton Beach. Weather permitting, The RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon will be at the beach the morning of the Gran Fondo Lake Huron. Kids of all ages will be able to soar up in the balloon and see Southampton and Chantry Island from the air! Balloon rides will begin at 8 am and run until noon. Admission by donation with all proceeds going to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation!
The 2018 Gran Fondo Lake Huron is a new fundraising initiative for the Foundation. Executive Director Sally Kidson says, “Costs of medical equipment continue to rise and having state of the art equipment is key to prompt diagnoses and excellent care. We hope to raise $150,000 with the Gran Fondo Lake Huron for this purpose. But it is a lot more than a fundraiser for the Foundation. This event is for our entire community and having the added excitement of the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon at the event is wonderful!”
