Municipality of Kincardine update on COVID-19

The Government of Ontario has declared a State of Emergency to combat the spread of COVID-19. In keeping with this decision, the Municipality of Kincardine has decided to close all remaining Municipal Facilities as of noon today to the public until April 5, 2020 at the earliest.

During this time, Staff will be available by phone and email during normal business hours at municipal offices to ensure continuity of municipal business operations. Staff will be practicing social distancing at these sites.

The Waste Management Centre will be closed until April 5, 2020 to the general public to allow preventative measures to be put in place to protect staff and the public. Access to our general contractors will be made available; please contact the Waste Management Centre at 519-396-7549 to arrange site access. Curb side collection is continuing on schedule at this time but please monitor https://www.brucerecycling.com/ for future updates.

The Building Department will continue to operate. We encourage everyone applying for a permit to email the application and drawings or submit in a designated bin located in the front of the Municipal Administration Centre during regular business hours. Please contact the Chief Building Official at cbo@kincardine.ca or 519-396-3468 ext. 7124 if you have any questions regarding how permits, inspections and payments will be dealt with during this public closure period.

Taxes and other Municipal payments can be paid by mail, the drop box at the Municipal Administrative Centre, online and telephone banking. Visit www.kincardine.ca for more details. Payments will continue to be processed on a daily basis. Please contact the Treasury Department at 519-396-3468 if you have concerns about how to make your payments during this time.

Municipal Committee meetings have been suspended at this time.

The public is encouraged to follow the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit and stay up to date at www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca.
