Tiverton Agricultural Society News

Kincardine and Tiverton Agricultural Societies were both the hosts for the Spring Meeting held on April 9 th at the Whitney Crawford Centre. There was a wonderful turnout. Member from local societies were on hand to purchase the Tiverton Agricultural Cookbooks and seed packets and there was a 50/50 draw. Guess who won that? Me. My share was $142.00. Watch for lots of exciting things happening this year with the Agricultural Society. Yes there will be a fair the first weekend in October and we can’t wait. Heather Convay and Janel Kostal went to a free event that was held at The Bruce in Kincardine on March 1 2022. It was all about planning events and making sure that the events were safe. A fire chief will be invited to a meeting in September to make sure we have all the safety requirement for the fall fair. If anyone is interested in volunteering or being a part of the Fall Fair, please email tivertonagsociety@gmail.com.

There are more than you think. There will also be an informative video in the near future with Katherine Gowing about some fall fair events. Please be sure to check out my talk show on Rogers cable TV. Don’t have cable? No problem, view it on line https://www.rogerstv.com/show?lid=12&rid=75&sid=8096 Always interesting and informative local guests.

Tiverton lost a dear resident when Christopher William “Smitty” Smith passed away on April 5th. In honor of Smitty, the local residents held a convoy thru town driving cars, trucks, ATV’s, tractors and almost anything with wheels. Condolences to all the family and friends that have lost a loved one this winter. Our hearts go out to you.

Things are looking up this year for everyone, but let’s keep it that way. Washing your hands is one of the best defences against any transmissions.

Please pray for the Ukraine and all their people at this difficult time.
